Digital Account Manager Tribal DDB
The Agency
DDB UK is a world class integrated communications agency. One building, full of talented individuals with expertise in advertising, digital, direct and experiential: creating everything from large scale global, to niche social media campaigns. DDB UK is not a group, nor a set of skills in silos, but one team with one aim - to be the most creative integrated agency. Our clients include Volkswagen, Financial Times, Exxon Mobil, Star Alliance, Unilever, Harvey Nichols and many more.
We place great importance on the ongoing development of our staff and offer internal and external training at all levels. As part of this commitment, we are members of the IPA and active participants in their CPD programme (Continuous Personal Development).
DDB famously expects two particular qualities of its employees: you have to be talented and you have to be nice. Being part of the creative industry, fun is not just part of our culture, it's also what we're paid to deliver; so if you have a can-do attitude and are willing to demonstrate your initiative you can expect plenty of stimulation in a company that will really develop your career.
Social at DDB UK
Our goal is simply to make DDB’s social offering the best and most robust in the UK market. This means living-up to the high standards of DDB UK’s creative product but also the high standards of its Strategic Planning department.
The network has aligned globally around the organising idea of Social Creativity. This mantra is being used to redefine the way we work and the kinds of work we want to produce. In London, the agency remains focused on making work that people love.
This is a very exciting time for the social media specialists in the agency. On the one hand we are busy growing a social business, on the other we are engaged in a process of changing the agency culture so, that in time, everyone thinks socially.
DDB UK Planning
The DDB UK Planning Department is very much at the centre of the agency. It is constantly evolving and anyone joining will have the opportunity to help shape that development. The department already consists of strategic thinkers from advertising, digital, media, PR and direct marketing backgrounds – we were the first department to truly grasp an integrated point of view and led the revolution within the agency that is now coming to fruition in all other departments of the business. Strategic planners are above all focussed on solving clients’ problems in the most appropriate and creative way.
We have a particular ‘house style’ of planning which we call ‘Open Planning’. This refers to the open minded way that we all approach new marketing and communications challenges. We never apply an ‘off the peg’ solution. And it also refers to a more collective way of working – using the combined brain power of the whole department to help solve knotty problems. It is the perfect place to work for someone with lots of ideas that they want to share.
The Role
We are looking for a Social Strategist, reporting to Director of Social.
In short; building social strategies for clients within the existing agency portfolio and beyond it. The strategic work ranges from (a) simple social campaign strategy development and planning, right-through to (b) assisting in the running of organisational change programmes, where clients are on a journey of transformation to become a truly social business.
Specifically the role will require the Social Strategist to do the following tasks:
- Work on the development of original social campaign proposals, identifying target audiences, creative content opportunities, providing solid rationale for the recommendations, working with creative teams where appropriate to brief-in the right creative solution.
- Develop strategies to harness the potential of social media for our clients (social platform design, social content/social object creation, outreach programme development).
- Design and implement social monitoring projects that deliver insight for marketing and social marketing strategy, using internal tools (e.g. Sysomos).
- Oversee social monitoring projects delivered by external suppliers (e.g. Brandwatch).
- Turn social media monitoring data into powerful insights that can be used to deliver original and powerful communications programmes.
- Work with the Director of Social to help develop social media guidelines and policy, operating models, content audits and content flows and the appropriate reporting and evaluation templates.
- To stay up to date on available social technology providers and developments in key social platforms.
- Work effectively with Account Management, Planning and Creative teams from across the agency.
In addition to day to day responsibilities, the social strategist will be;
- Working with the Director of Social to help develop new products and services that will meet emerging client needs.
- Working with the Director of Social to design new planning and analytical approaches to derive deeper and more unique insight from social monitoring data.
- To help in the development of a very high-end social ROI methodology.
Fit with DDB UK
As ever, we are not content with simply talented people. They must also be open, friendly and comfortable taking part in and contributing to the culture of the social media unit and the wider agency – sharing knowledge and helping and inspiring others.
